We are going to cover the rules of Standardized English grammar (mostly American grammar), but we are also going to look at rules of the multitude of American dialects. We are going to explore how context (people, place, purpose) drives our language choices. We are going to talk about how students can become thoughtful consumers and creators of language–in ways that relate to their worlds.
